Welcome to the Website of Lewisham Chess Club

Who we are

Lewisham Chess Club is a friendly chess club in South East London. Our membership is currently around 60, and we are always looking to get more people involved.
Newcomers, novices and experts alike, are always welcome to attend any evening - just turn up!

We have teams active in 14 competitions across 4 different Leagues and can offer competitive chess for all standards of player.

We meet every Wednesday from 7.30pm onward.

Location and facilities

Our Club is located inside Catford Cricket and Sports Club in Penerley Rd, Catford, about 5 minutes walk from Catford and Catford Bridge Railway Stations and is directly off Bromley Road which is served by several bus routes.

There is ample on-street parking and the Club itself has a small amount of off-street parking and a small and friendly Bar for the use of members and visitors alike.

The entrance to the premises is located through the far right door signposted 'Members Bar', and we play in the function room accessed through the bar itself

Season 2023-24

Membership Subscriptions are now being taken for season 2023-24, with prices unchanged for the 2nd year.

Lewisham will enter teams in four OTB Leagues again this year - Kent, Croydon District, London and Central London Leagues

The new season will start in September
